I landed myself a solid salary job as a head of a department and as a reward my wife gave me permission to go wild with a new Keeb.

Enter the blue beauty.

Mode Sonnet - Navy body, brass bass, brass internal weight. Internal silicone mat, foam kit, POM plate, Durock V2 Gold Stabilizers.

Gateron Oil King linear switches.

GMK Blue Samurai doubleshot ABS Keycaps.

I am in love with looks and feel of this thing and can wait to put in some hours in front of the computer with it.

My god. It’s full of win…

I’d kill for this exact machine on a 105-key deck. Such a base to build on?

The closest you are going to get is one of the Keychron customs Q6, K10, K5. They lack in the design department and some of the nice meterial options but are functional if you want a full custom layout.

Trying to find really nice full layout keyboards is basically a unicorn hunt.

I kept eyeballing the Keychron Q6 or the Ducky One 3 but neither scratched the itch for design and or aesthetics that I was looking for. or materials for that matter. Quality full size custom keeboards are almost non-existant. I think I’ve found maybe 6 total.

Thanks, it is very satisfying to type on. Oh… If you value your wallet, keep your knowledge of this hobby on an acquaintance only level.

do you have experience with wear on ABS double-shots?

if i wanted a WOB set of ISO-DE keycaps, they’d have to be ABS. sadly that’s all that’s available, but from what i heard they have a deeper sound profile. that would suit my needs perfectly, although the faster wear worries me a bit.

i’ve shot ducky an e-mail, since they obviously have the molds, but don’t currently make PBT WOB ISO-DE keycaps.

would love a short review compared to PBT.

I’ll have to get back to you on that. These will be my first ABS Keycaps. I didn’t plan it this way but my last 5 (6?) sets have all been PBT. Obviously I’m not worried about the legend disappearing but I’ll have to give a 6 month check in on the texture/feel.
