I know this has nothing to do with my home computer, but this just further affirms my decision to switch to Linux earlier this year.

I remember when I used to be able to find dedicated message boards for bands that I liked. Now I’m lucky if there’s a subreddit where it’s just a bunch of people submitting poorly drawn fan art of the band.

Another day, another moment of being thankful for my dedicated .mp3 player.

This won’t affect me - seeing as I have no use for Instagram - but I do worry that some actual DECENT sites will adopt this in the near future.

Even if you COULD trust that he wouldn’t use your data for nefarious purposes, why would you want yet ANOTHER company to have the complete story of your life in a hackable database? Remember the Equifax data breach? Guess most people don’t.

I’m not worried about Twitter. I’m worried about other platforms following suit. What if we get to the point where the power company wants your biometric data before they’ll let you pay your bill?
