A $500 piece of small hardware typically ages faster than a higher-end PC. The steam deck is an impressive piece of hardware, but it wasn’t exactly bleeding edge under the hood. There are a lot of compromises made to accommodate the form factor/handheld nature of it. It’s not going to age as gracefully.
It will be a very nice indie machine for a long time. But it is already aging out of the AAA space.
