  • What you’re saying makes no sense. People need to realise that those at the helm are actually as stupid or worse than the average joe. They are profoundly uneducated and just happened to be in the right social circles to reach power. This is especially true in the US. As for AI, someone thinks there’s money to be made from AI so it’s getting pumped. Same shit for crypto. What we really need is a French revolution in the US, but that will never happen because even the most destitute of US americans thinks they’re a millionaire who just happens to be on a low luck slump, so they will never revolt against the elite that “they are a part of”.

  • Hey man, I was a Hardforum user for as long as I can Remember and Kyle was a straight shooter. Even when he jumped to Intel, nobody gave a second thought about his honesty! The problem is that for every Kyle, we have 10 Ryan Shrouts. He was (unlike kyle) one of these writers that was consistently on a high horse talking down to the peasants. Kyle had a short fuse but you always knew where he was coming from. I don’t think lemmy users would dislike Kyle at all.

Off topic: Kyle was one of the few CPU testers besides Ian of Anandtech (much later) that recognized the Utility of running benches at 720p to remove GPU bottlenecks. HardOCP is missed to this day.

  • As much as I respect that stance I really think people are being trained into this nothing burger by the media. Who cares if they ask for an account? Like, some middle management at sony wants to pump numbers and people need to give an email address. I truly don’t understand what’s the big deal, granted, I don’t buy sony games on PC so I don’t have a horse in the race. Like, I can’t play Apex or Destiny on Linux because “safety” (lol, hackerman intensifies) but the media’s race is bashing a PSN account for “reasons” when we’re being forced to use a spyware OS that enforces its monopoly at every turn? Like, it says on the blurb that a PSN account is needed, don’t buy the game if that’s not kosher, vote with the wallet. I truly am amazed at how the media shifts the narrative away from the actual relevant issues and people just fall for it.
