They already have started doing that
They already have started doing that
Honest question, what’s there to be hyped about? I haven’t ever looked into its feature set because it looks like ass. Do people just like the Tesla name or what?
What’s there to learn that isn’t already widely known? Existing (copyright) laws are asinine and all corporations eventually become consumed by greed. That’s America in a nutshell.
Exactly. I would say an MBA is only useful if your undergrad degree was in something other than business. It is meant to add management skills to an already skilled individual. If you don’t have any other skills it’s just an expensive piece of paper that, at least to me, signifies essentially the same thing as being the boss’s son would. You probably aren’t very good at anything but always think you’re the smartest person in the room.
MBAs have no useful skills and yet they run every company in existence.
She’s got DSL. Dinshaw’s suckin lips
Echo chambers are a lot easier to recognize and ignore when they aren’t filled with your friends and family.
How are you gonna make a list of wish rules that doesn’t include “no infinite wishes”? That’s crazy talk
Yeah that’s pretty funny given the circumstances. “Our AI found your AI.” Cool, so maybe none of this is working as intended. I’d be willing to bet nothing changes but the punishments for students.
Not in any practical sense of the word but that didn’t stop them from removing headphone jacks in order to shave an additional 1/16 of an inch off.
I don’t get the fanboy culture around phone manufacturers. None of them have done anything innovative in a decade. They’re just adding more cameras and trying to make them thinner even though I’m pretty sure most people don’t care about either.
What do you mean about the controls? I have no complaints in that realm but maybe I’m overlooking something.
They pay more but not 80% of the total cost of maintenance. That’s what the distribution would need to be in order to cancel out the outsized influence they have on infrastructure degradation.
Yes, but you brought up other heavy vehicles not me.
18 wheelers and other heavy vehicles are definitely not going to be stopped by a guardrail. They also disintegrate any small passenger vehicle they come in contact with at any significant speed. I’m not sure how pointing out that they are dangerous is a load of shit.
Additionally, heavy vehicles cause upwards of 80% of road wear, which means we are subsidizing private transport companies by not forcing them to fund a proportional amount of road maintenance.
That’s only true if you assume that people are generally smart, especially when it comes to technology. Such an assumption seems to me to be… overly generous.
Most people are boring and annoying but that’s OK.
Sure all that’s theoretically possible, but realistically no one reading this post is influencing global events on any significant scale. Especially if you’re just doing normal kid stuff. A random kid ordering spaghetti instead of chicken nuggets is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. The same goes for just about any choice you’d likely be presented with.
While there’s definitely some of that going on, the people I usually see complaining about this kind of thing are not interested in the fair exchange of ideas. Rather, they’re upset that one of their dumb opinions got made fun of in a public forum.
There’s a legitimate discussion to be had about harm reduction here. You’re approaching this topic from an all-or-nothing mindset but there’s quite a bit of research indicating that’s not really how it works in practice. Specifically as it relates to child pornography the argument goes that not allowing artificial material to be created leads to an increase in production of actual child pornography which obviously means more real children are being harmed than would be if other forms were not controlled in the same fashion. The same sort of logic could be applied to revenge porn, stolen selfies, or whatever else we’re calling the kind of thing this article is referring to. It may not be an identical scenario but I still think it would be fair to say that an AI generated image is not as damaging as a real one.
That is not to say that nothing should be done in these situations. I haven’t decided what I think the right move is given the options in front of us but I think there’s quite a bit more nuance here than your comment would indicate.
