i just wish theyd stop calling themselves a federating platform when they have yet to prove that.

ha, ok. still kinda smells like a giant ol, single big tech to me. primary components still operated by a single board with monetary goals in mind…
the king is dead. long live the king vibes
i think their point is if you want to comment make a google account and comment… or dont.
personally, it boggles the mind why anyone would want to do that.
theres also a critical ‘relay’ component required that so far only Bluesky runs, so not-so-federated.
there is no such thing as a 100% independent bluesky install to which people can attach also independent nodes (PDS).
you runnin your own relay or is it all ‘except the relay and appview’?
is this where we get to explain again why its not really ai?
i had this exact issue until i wiped my machine this summer and it refreshed into a full win11 after the crowdstrike debacle
i hate ms with every fiber of my being, but teams has gotten better. it used to be practically unusable. now its just mostly so
epson dot matrix… used to be used to print carbons for medical billing all over the place… i wonder if those are still a viable solution… they tick all your boxes as the drivers were incredibly simple/generic.
I won.
i joined reddit back on the ground floor with no subreddits, ‘college’ oriented… and then i got to watch as it was built it something beautiful … before conde… after the real money started coming in you could see the VC writing on the wall, im just surprised it took them this long.
i needed something to renew my interest in that ground floor, in what reddit was, and break my doom scrolling habits. Kbin FTW
reddit is dead to me, and thats what matters. I won.
but even if you wanted to run that, you cant because they wont release the software or interact with foreign relays.
they dont even let you choose to grab the 4.8tb which is <10% of my home storage
