I have, and yeah there are ugly parts…

Yeah, that’s a real softball way to say “genocide denial” and “genocide cheerleading”.

but the point that y’all push it to insulting them just comes off as weird and insecure

… I’m sorry, is authoritarianism not worthy of insults?

Of all the varieties of authoritarians, tankies are the ones that are most common on this website. I’m really not getting why you’re coming to a comm specifically for venting about tankie bullshit and throwing a fit that there is [checks notes] venting about tankie bullshit.

like this community is terrified people will overwhelmingly like Tankies more than people with your ideology which says everything about y’all and very little about Tankies which is precisely my point.

    what

Because I am honestly mystified why especially in this moment in world history you pour so much energy and time into this.

        … fucking what.

How much time and effort do you think posting a tankie meme a day (or two if a tankie or one of their defenders says something fuckwadded and stupid to me, like ‘I don’t see why you’re so worked up about Uyghur genocide!’) takes?

Do you think that posting on the Threadiverse is changing world history?

At best, and it would not be a claim that I would make for a meme comm, it would be changing the Threadiverse, which is, itself, an insanely small proportion of people, even politically involved people, in the Anglosphere. Even if you assumed 100% of us were Americans, it would still be an insanely small percentage of whatever narrow slice of politically important demographics you wanted to place us on.

I don’t know, it seems like a lot for what the topic at hand is which is again where my genuine confusion arises from here.

How much would ‘not a lot’ of time and effort be for people who check all the following boxes

            • Support genocide

            • Support authoritarianism

            • Are a large percentage of users on this site/collection of instances

I spend maybe a minute making a post, and you assert that’s far too much to critique people who support genocide.

I’ve probably spent more minutes arguing with you in this comment section, than ALL the minutes I’ve spent posting anti-tankie memes combined since I started in this comm.

Although, to be fair, that’s also probably true of most of my online arguments.
