You say this happened, but at the same time maybe it didn’t happen, mention some people feel one way and other people feel a different way, throw in some meaningless speculation, someone else who is jumping to conclusions, maybe throw a pun in there somewhere, at least one person is skeptical about the thing, someone is concerned about how things will be different, and start selling space for advertisements.

I see what the article is conveying in this sentence: this is a decision that makes no sense (it probably costs more to artificially limit speeds in this way) but it is also not unexpected that Apple would make this kind of decision. I think it’s a well written turn of phrase.

I think you’re correct. I don’t think the author articulated that very clearly, but my reaction was an overreaction.
