Apps like Bluesky allow you to create a list of block words for anything you don’t want to see. Is there already a feature request logged for this? I wouldn’t mind seeing a way to mass block the following:
- word or phrase in title (like kardashian)
- word in link source (like dailymail)
- word in sublemmy (like meme)
- word in tag (like #sports)
I dunno if it would significantly slow down app rendering of the feed, or if this kind of blocking would have to be a feature request for the server side instead.
Thanks for your time.
word or phrase in title (like kardashian)
This is currently available in Mlem under Settings -> Safety & Filtering -> Keyword Filters :)
word in link source (like dailymail)
We do not currently offer this feature. In Lemmy 1.0, the Lemmy developers have implemented a keyword blocking system on the backend that includes this.
word in sublemmy (like meme) word in tag (like #sports)
This isn’t currently possible through Mlem or through Lemmy. I’ll create issues on our GitHub to keep track of these ideas 👍
This would be a great addition to Mlem, however it is something that ultimately should be done server side.
