Honestly, you’re better off. Your current method ensures you get what you want, which you know from the start. Browsing on netflix always ends in choice paralysis for me, the longer I browse the less sure I am what I want to see, and eventually I just get exhausted or annoyed and move on to other things. Now, that’s me, and you are not me, but we are both people and as a people I suspect this shit happen to most of us. Smooth sailing, ye scallywag!

idk, personally I wish there were more convenient and effective discovery/recommendation tools for piracy, seems to be a big thing it’s lacking.

I hadn’t, but I took the time to install and test both.

            • Overseerr: Looks like you need to sign in with a Plex account to start using it. Since that is a centralized service, and because I’ve heard they’ve started cracking down on piracy, I’m not willing to do this.

            • Ombi: I was able to set it up with my local Jellyfin server, but it looks like it only has a search feature and a generic list of currently popular media without any personalized recommendations, which is the main feature I was thinking of here as lacking.

if you are on android you might wanna try out RiMusic. its not the most stable, but i find that it is very similar to the experience spotify provides. (and its foss software, using youtube music as backend)
