Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter looks like a ridiculously cool remake based on everything we’ve seen of it so far — but some fans have long wondered whether the game will simply reuse the old localisation from when Trails in the Sky was originally brought overseas by publisher Xseed Games. As it turns out, 1st Chapter will feature a newly localised script, as per the official pre-order information from remake publisher GungHo Online Entertainment. The thing is, the old game’s English script has, at times, been accused of being an inaccurate representation of the original Japanese writing. It’s not what we’d call a popular complaint — we happen to think the Sky games have a largely charming localisation — but it’ll be interesting to see how this reworked script compares. Indeed, GungHo specifically states: “Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter features a new localization, ensuring an authentic and engaging experience that honors the original Japanese text.” 🖊️️🤖
