This all sounds normal. Our social circle shrinks the older we get, we have jobs, spouses and kids we need to commit to, and we spend our money differently. It’s sad but that’s what happens.

I think talking to your friend would be a great idea. “Hey things have been quiet and I’ve noticed a difference, everything OK?” And go from there

I was once travelling just after the Paddington rail crash when there were mandatory speed restrictions. It was a 25 minute train journey that took nearly 3 hours. This is the days before smart phones so I had to just sit staring at a field bored out of my mind.

That’s a good mindset to have! It shows you want to put the work in, which is great cos youre worth the effort. The more you put into it the more you get out of it, and this should all reduce your pain
