This is probably the play they’re making; the only thing that makes me think it might be something else is that they also announced ditching proprietary code in favor of kvm in workstation. Makes me wonder if they instead are deciding to slowly kill the product line, and instead of just stopping development entirely, they’re giving it out as if it’s some huge gift to try and “buy” good will before it becomes an inferior product?
Either way, support costs for the product are now $0 (because you can’t buy it) and development costs are about to be near-zero if they’re forking upstream kvm.

It’s free, you host it yourself. It’s built off of nagios, compatible with nagios plugins, supports snmp or agent based checks. It can email, SMS, slack or discord you when something breaks, you can write your own custom checks in any language that can output to a local console… I could never imagine even looking for something else.

AR uses a transparent overlay over reality perceived through a translucent surface, or at most a small subset of your vision is replaced. Think sunglasses with a screen you can see through, or a small corner of your vision is blocked by a tiny screen.
In Apple’s “spatial computing” cameras recreate and alter reality, nothing you see is with your own eyes because no part of the display is transparent.

after the wife and I put ~350hrs into BG3, we were hungering for more. We went back and played Divinity Original Sin 1/2. 1 was tough to play by modern standards but 2 definitely holds up. There seem to be a few easter eggs here and there but I don’t see any reason you’d have to play 1 to understand 2. The combat and skill system is a little different but still very intuitive once you get the hang of it and is definitely a solid recommend for anyone who wants more baulder’s gate but has already done every playthrough under the sun.

It’s been a while since I’ve interacted with google ads, but if memory serves, by default, the dashboards don’t (or can’t) break down sales per site, it’s mostly impressions per category of ad deployment. “Clickthrough rate among banner ads on news websites” etc. It wouldn’t surprise me if the same makers of these spam websites also run bots that click the ads and prop up those metrics that 99% of advertisers don’t drill down through beyond surface level. Advertisers probably see clickthrough is good on a deployment and just assumes sales come from those.
Nothing beats the bang/buck ratio of used enterprise hardware (always buy new drives though if you care about the data)

I’ve bought from all of these in the past, personally I’m a fan of dells but there are arguments for just about any of the major 3 (dell, hp, sueprmicro)
Personally my main server right now is an r630. 96 threads, 768gb of ram. With that many memory channels, not only can you run all of what you listed, you can even do medium-sized inferencing/diffusion if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
