Android auto is pretty much when you plug your phone into your car stereo and it runs like it’s own os from your phone. Google maps, music, etc. It just doesn’t run all apps though. Spotify is currently the key to any music playing in my car, so it’s important that whatever I use works with it. Apparently tidal does work with it so I might give it a shot. I will lose all my playlists though. 😔

Anyone have an alternative with the same content, offline play, and integration into Android Auto? I would love to switch if something meets my needs.

Does Ublock do cookie settings? I used superagent so I never see those cookie pop ups, it just declines all optional cookies.

I switched to Firefox 6 months ago as a test experiment. I literally have NO REASON to ever open chrome again. Imported my passwords and the transition was smooth as butter. And I am a stubborn turd that hates change. Firefox plus Ublock origin and superagent fixed everything wrong with the internet for me.

I used to be excited for this kind of stuff, then I saw what we’ve done with the technology we have. People are “auto” driving their cars while they wear their apple vision pros, that’s what we do with it… Pretty soon tiktoc titties will be streamed straight to our frontal cortex.

Idk, in my particular situation I would like a smart washing machine. I have a smart fridge, that is essentially useless, but a smart washing machine would tell me when my laundry was done so I can switch it into the dryer. That actually seems useful in my particular situation.

It is absolutely absurd. There have been a lot of games that aren’t polished come out in the last half a decade that got a LOT of flack, but this one cannot be played without a connection to the servers and no one can connect to the servers. I have 15 hours logged and probably 4 of that has actually been playing. The game is by every definition LITERALLY Unplayable.

It is sad, but through the events of the last few years (Reddit, Twitter, politics) companies have realized they can do whatever they want. While they will lose a significant portion of users, the mass majority will stay. The ones that leave are the ones they can’t abuse and they don’t want them anyway. Profit is better taking advantage of the complacent and losing the activists than the other way around.

Anywho, I will move to Firefox just like I moved to lemmy. Although I’m not sure moving to Firefox actually fixes anything other than giving Google less money. Now I just need to figure out how to have a phone without apple or Google getting a peice.

If the kids old enough to figure out VPNs, dual booting, and all the other pretty simple workarounds then it is what it is. You can’t control everything. I am talking about the little guys. And this dudes kid is googling how to teach crabs to talk. If someone is searching that they probably aren’t ready to get completely unrestricted access because they are probably pretty young. Kids need access to the internet at a super young age these days for school. If you don’t have some sort of filter in place when they are in single digits or tweens you are just negligent. The internet has some dark corners.
