GrapheneOS for google pixel phones, otherwise CalyxOS, DivestOS, maybe even IodéOS. All of these are Android but with better defaults, without irremovable spying garbage, and with some features nowhere else available.

if your phone is not supported by these, check LineageOS. or plan your next phone purchase according to the compatibility list of the above. if you’re going for longevity but you don’t need a flagship, Fairphone is agood choice, if you can look away from the lack of a JACK.

google through only the web, what a fucking joke. if you have a google account check your activity history. it will list the times you have opened an app.

if you don’t have a google account but your phone has google services, don’t be afraid that you can’t check it, they’re still harvesting it.

keep bank services contained in the firefox browser. if they don’t allow access there, switch banks, you’ll be better off with a smaller one anyways.

since this is most likely not a very popular add-on, any browser with it would stand out considerably more relative to not having it.

websites cannot look at the list of your addons. they have to detect the presence of each, which is mostly possible when the addon makes changes to the page content, or replaces browser APIs in certain ways.

Typically its common for browsers that want to reduce fingerprinting (tor, mullvad etc) recommend not installing new addons as then you stand out from crowd.

I’m still interested in an answer, but after looking at the code there’s a (actually not so) surprising turn: this thing sinply cannot live without remotely loaded google fonts (at addon startup) for some fucking reason.

that technically shouldn’t make you more fingerprintable, but the extension makes sure google is notified that you opened your browser.

I know nothing about seedboxes, but on a computer you can point multiple torrents to the same directory. If you make it read-only, by permission or mount options or whatever, the torrent client can’t even fuck it up

Yes, but because of the resource usage of that app, I’m kind of reluctant to allow it to run more.
Also, I forgot to mention that I’m trying to use UnifiedPush (with ntfy) instead of google’s infrastructure. Sorry for that.

I want to move over to it (in the medium-long term) but yes, there are a few deal breakers.

First, the clients are horribly resource hungry. If I open Element on my phone, it will keep synchonizing my messages for minutes until I can see any new messages, all the while CPU usage is through the roof.
Then, push notifications on my phone are not working even in the official client, Element.
But I’m aware of the pitfalls of how encryption work there, so I would just not bother using that feature for now. Like, if 2 if you start exchanging messages, and a 3rd family member joins, they will not see previous messages, even if you have set history visibility that way, and there is no solution whatsoever. This is because encryption keys that were used in the past are not sent to new participants.

Currently we use Telegram, and there are disturbing changes lately, but that is at least performant, it works, and still much more trustable then facebook or google.
