Tasteless is a relative thing. It is super rare now to get a good tasting watermelon. I buy them all the time so even the ‘tasteless’ ones are better than nothing and every once in a while there is a little bit of really good towards the heart. In the 80s and 90s it was rare to get a bad one, The rind tasted as good as the whole watermelon nowadays. It would almost have to be a rotten one to be disappointed. I am happy for you that you feel like seedless watermelons taste so good. I wish I could erase my knowledge of what it should be and live in that zone.

I hate the existence of seedless watermelons. I seek out seeded watermelons because they were bred for taste instead of seed deficiency. Anybody who lived before seedless watermelons were common know what a real watermelon is supposed to taste like. They have been slowly becoming tasteless and more seedless since the 80s. The first ones called seedless I had were okay, but they also had lots of white, barely formed seeds. The ones nowadays have almost no seeds, but have absolutely no taste. The people who seek out seedless watermelons are idiots.

That is fine. I was definitely positing an unlikely but possible case, I do suffer from extreme anxiety and what sets it off has nothing to do with logic, but you are also overstating the ethics violation by suggesting that any harm they could cause is real or significant in a way that wouldn’t happen with regular interaction on random forums.
Sculptus Poe@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Gang who smuggled thousands of queen ants sentenced in KenyaEnglish4·4 days agoThe best practice is to keep local ants. Almost all ant keepers suggest doing that. Also invasive ants that already have a foothold in the area is fine, like keeping fire ants for instance, though one should be more vigilant about keeping them in captivity and never risk letting them free. I would suppose new invasive should be only kept by expert keepers. I wouldn’t even say those experts should be zoos, just well trained. Part of that training might be that they would decide not to keep them at all. So there is that. Some ants can’t climb as well as others and are easier to set up confinements for. Some ants are nigh impossible to keep in or out…
Sculptus Poe@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Gang who smuggled thousands of queen ants sentenced in KenyaEnglish3·4 days agoWell, it seems obvious but some people don’t have hobbies I guess. I don’t keep ants, but I definitely see why someone would enjoy raising a colony of ants that are so different from what we normally have and why would be interesting. Keeping an ant colony healthy is a rewarding challenge and those ants have different behaviors and body types to regular ants. Look at that chonker of a queen, she is pretty beautiful on her own.
Sculptus Poe@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Gang who smuggled thousands of queen ants sentenced in KenyaEnglish431·4 days agoOne queen is enough to seed an ant farm. Those are just particularly interesting ants, and hard to get. It is best to just have local ants for farms because then you can release them if necessary, but keeping interesting and exotic ants is more interesting than local types you probably see all the time, especially in areas without a great variety of local ants. 250 dollars for an exotic pet is pretty cheap really.
If they mark it wrong, and all the others, if chosen, are wrong, then your answer was right and they would have to fix their mistake. That wave collapses to there being 0% chance of being right.

How do you know that I don’t have an intense fear of the words “justify the means”? You could have just doomed me to a downward spiral ending in my demise. As if I didn’t have enough trouble. You not only made me see it, you tricked me into typing it.
But the teacher can’t mark it wrong, making it right.

But it wouldn’t be correct, so 0% would remain the answer.
The answer is not available. The answer is 0 Percent. Each answer, if chosen, would be incorrect. If 0% was an answer, it would be the correct one despite being a 25% chance. Of course, if one 25% was there, that would be the correct answer.

Until microsoft makes that the default down in the lower right corner, I don’t think we’ll make much headway. I’ve been trying to get my office to do their dated files in YYYYMMDDHHMM for years. I do mine that way but I can’t get anybody else to comply. This meme lists that as a discouraged format, I guess the dashes are ISO but I don’t care about the dashes. I would accept doing YYYY-MM-DD over MMDDYYYY any time though.
That cat would have 3 arms if it relied on me remembering to look before I slam the door even with the note… I would have to affix some cloth on that gap or something.
