Thank you 🙂
Immich on its own looks good, but if I set it up, I think I’ll definitely install lightGallery to go with it 🙂

You can see [a live demo here](https://immich-demo.note.sx/share/ffSw63qnIYMtpmg0RNvOui0Dpio7BbxsObjvH8YZaobIjIAzl5n7zTX5d6EDHdOYEvo), which is serving a gallery straight out of my own Immich instance.
Sorry, off topic, but is this what Immich looks like out of the box, or have you used any other plugins?
Immich Public Proxy looks like exactly what I want for my family photos, but I haven’t looked into Immich yet. The demo looks beautiful, and is simple enough for the grandparents to use 🙂
No problem, hope you all enjoy your gaming 🙂
I’ve found codes for the family pass on legit key selling sites for around the same price as an individual key, so it’s worth checking before you buy 👍
I’ve just checked the boxes, and Minecraft, Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and Mario Kart Deluxe 8 all support one player on the Switch Lite, up to four through the TV, and up to four on the non lite Switch 👍
This is excellent advice 🙂
The only part I might disagree with is this:
Get Switch Lites for anyone who REALLY needs to be playing something else independently when the TV/“main” Switch is in use
Obviously only if the budget allows, but if your kids are at the age where they’ll take their Switch when they visit friends or family, then the version with detachable controllers is probably better.
The Switch has a built in kick stand, and some games, like Mario Kart, let you disconnect the controllers and have one each for a two player game. It’s handy for keeping the kids quiet for a bit, and you don’t need to carry loads of stuff.
If the kids regularly go somewhere, like your parents perhaps, you can buy an extra dock to plug into the TV there, and the non lite Switch can use it in exactly the same way as the one at home. There’s nothing special about the dock, it essentially just connects the Switch to the TV.
It’s a great little console with some fun, if sometimes expensive games. I play mine probably as much as my kid plays theirs 🙂
That being said, I hate the formatting of most forums. Reddit and Lemmy’s comment nesting is excellent. It’s very easy to follow conversations.
You could set that up on a lot of forums, you just had to select threaded view in the settings 👍
Be careful with MediaMonkey, it can incorrectly change your files.
I’ve got dozens, if not hundreds of songs where it’s changed the track number to the play count, and I’ve got a load where it’s decreased the volume by a significant amount, presumably as part of the volume leveling function.
I don’t use anything else to play or manage my music, and nothing has permission to affect it this way.
which is why people always wipe them before playing
As an aside, don’t wipe records. While dust is unlikely to damage it, scraping something across the surface can cause scratches which can affect the playback. An air duster is your best bet 👍
Fair enough. I tried video calling with it at the beginning of the first lockdown, and it was fine for what I needed, but most of the video calling programs were a bit rubbish then.
I very rarely share files with people outside of an already set up organisation, so I haven’t had a reason to try their file sharing.
Genuine question, but what’s unusable without Nitro? I don’t use Discord very often, and the only thing that I’ve seen Nitro pushed for is reactions from other communities, and that’s pointless anyway.
I haven’t used that module, but I’ve fixed some problems in the past by running npm install in the module’s folder, then either rebooting or restarting the MM software.
I don’t know whether it’s the mirror or the module that causes the problem, but that can help
Report them as malicious content 👍
wanted a new laptop for a while anyways 😋
Always the best reason 😁
Why not just repair the hinges?
Yep, that’s what it is on my system using Surfshark with OpenVPN.
Same here. I don’t bother with 4k for things like comedies where the visual quality doesn’t matter. I’ve set up profiles for everything up to 4k, and select per film as I add it.
Try searching for qxr and filtering from there. Find a result from one of the uploaders you like, click their name to see their uploads, and save the page as a bookmark for next time 👍
Meanwhile, you have a large group of people with lived experience sharing that experience. Surely that counts for something?
Not necessarily.
My kid has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD, and going through the diagnosis process, we realised that I fit a lot of the symptoms. Speaking to friends with various disorders and mental health issues, as well as reading up on them online, we found out that autism and ADHD have overlaps in behaviour. They also overlap with anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and a few others.
The bouncing knee seems to be recognised as a stim for autism, hyperactivity for ADHD, and a nervous behaviour for anxiety. A group of people could convince someone that it’s a sign of whichever diagnosis they personally have, while not knowing about the others, all while not realising that the person asking is just suffering from caffeine withdrawal.
Obviously this is an oversimplification, but hopefully it helps to point out that all groups have their own blind spots, and we all tend to colour things with our own perspective.
Thanks 🙂
