Av1 is pretty well supported now on a lot of devices thanks to dav1d, and it’s the video codec with the best quality:compression ratio. “broad device compatibility” will be up to you and your devices, I would seriously look into it. It’s what I personally encode all my stuff to.
as for audio Opus or AAC, AC-3 is bad
opus and AAC are more or less the same, with some wins and losses either way, just don’t use ffaac or ffopus for encoding lol
thats not true at all…
dont convert them to mp3, use either AAC or Opus, 192kbps is typically good enough for high quality, but a lot of people will just encode 128kbps
been using dual sense for a long time now, I love using it, but the battery life leads some to be desired. also the gyro scope isn’t nearly as good as the dualshock 4
thats… interesting… I myself would rather just serve P5 and a converted HDR. as different encodes at that point.
also what tool was used to generate this? seems like a nifty tool.
wait, are you saying people are copying P5 onto HDR10 videos and calling it P8? because that’s not P8 lol, now you CAN actually convert profile 5 dovi to profile 8, and you can do that properly, it shouldn’t look any different. can you provide an example of a known bad? I’ve gotten quite curious now
probably because it would require extra encoding time? profile 8 is wide enough supported and usually has HDR fallback for everything else, no idea about merging hdr10/+ with dovi p5, it’s not something I have actually seen, but I don’t consume much dovi content myself.
it could also be that their source is simply p8 dovi
right? gotta wonder why it was even posted in the first place
