I pay for music streaming on Tidal. I have a pretty big library of music from attempts to get away from streaming (and keep it up on Soulseek), but I use curated playlists too much to get away from streaming

Plover can make any keyboard work as a steno board, haven’t messed around with it since early covid, but it’s great foss software
I’ve been rocking a technik with purpz and mbk legends for about 2 years now, will probably stick with it until it gives out and replacement parts are no longer available. Low pro, hotswap, metal case, LEDs (never use them though), etc, it’s great imo. My raise and lower layers are heavily riced for both my wm (bspwm) and having all my common programming symbols easily accessible.
I’ve been wanting to switch to a staggered low pro split board for ergo reasons but haven’t had much time to look unfortunately
Oh I definitely agree - and highly recommend checking out doom emacs to solve that. It’s emacs configured to use vim keybinds instead (and other QOL features). It adds a bit less than 200 add-ons by default, but they’re only loaded as needed so startup time is still <1 second
Doom emacs is superior
It’s a flat $15 for the state filing regardless of state or income, it’s the main way they make money to be able to run (their optional support options are the other way they make money). I prefer the transparency of $0 federal $15 state to some ambiguous amount between $169 and $359 federal and $39-$64 state for TurboTax
It’s not can’t, it’s won’t. Tax companies like TurboTax pay a lot of money for lobbying to keep the IRS from making it free and simple
Highly recommend trying dwarf fortress if you like rimworld!
As a note, their application process is super easy, free, and they do it every weekend. Not paid or super exclusive, just makes sure you read the rules basically
As much as I like fully self hosting, I ended up paying for Plex lifetime and have it running in docker. It was $120, but has already paid for itself twice over since I managed to convince my wife to drop hbo max, Netflix, and a couple others. She isn’t technical at all so she was hesitant, but she likes plex. If she can’t find what she wants to watch on our few streaming services (paid for by our cell provider, otherwise they’d be cancelled too), she can add it to the watchlist on Plex and radarr or sonarr will download it automatically and make it available on plex pretty quickly (or she’ll tell me to get it and let her know when it’s done).
I could open my Plex server to more family or friends, but most of them either pirate stuff themselves or are fine with paying for streaming services for the ease of use.
What I’m learning is that I’m really glad that I told myself I wouldn’t be buying it until it was on sale post-launch to see if it was even worth the sale price
I would too, but it goes in the shell/outside that goes around the cheese wheel, not in the cheese itself
It is if it’s anywhere that’s eaten it is, but the outer rim of the cheese wheel doesn’t get eaten
Probably because otherwise people would be like “yOuRe PuTtInG mEtAl IN mY cHEeSe”
Probably to protect the “brand” at places that actually care about advertising what kind of cheese they have
It wasn’t, it’s dig-n-rig. That said, I really need to redownload Starbound, it’s been a while since I’ve played it but I remember it being a lot of fun too
I still use a c to audio adapter most of the time when I’m out and about. My wired earbuds don’t need to charge, have much better sound quality than wireless, and if one side falls out of my ear it just swings down instead of falling into the dirt/water/snow. As far as I’m concerned the only benefit of wireless is that they can’t catch on anything, and that’s more a skill issue than anything imo
