I did come in a little hot, but I am just very tired of watching people casually throw around “pedophile.“ I understand that is not what you were doing, but this post set up a very specific situation that it looked like you were building on. Honestly I’m not very concerned with the dude. What it sounds like to me is that he’s engaging in the same behavior I don’t like. But it doesn’t make him a pedophile is my point. And yes you did not accuse him, but to say what you said in this context is to kind of play into that assertion, whether it is your intention or not. Also I was talking about the person above you, not you, in case that wasn’t clear. Though in that other comment where I said you were making the accusation I had gotten tripped up about who I was talking to, so that was my mistake.

I think it’s important to point out that we have now entered a debate about a random YouTuber/twitch personality, someone I don’t really have any opinions on anyway, when the original offense in this post is that this person equated being a leftist with wanting to legalize child porn, all in a post that is just rage bait about vegans. Clearly you see the issue here, right?

I would rather us return to that issue instead of getting bogged down in whether you think I like Vaush, which I don’t. I know little about him other then people are using some really out of context stuff it seems in order to make him sound like he defends and endorses child porn, and then, for some odd reason that is now being expanded into “leftists are pedophiles who defend child porn.” I’d say it’s utterly bizarre but frankly it’s just malicious and gross of OP.

That’s all well and good. But making a bad argument against crypto (which is surprising because it’s pretty easy to tear down crypto tbh) doesn’t make him a pedophile.

Yeah I just finished reading it over and watching clips - and while he was very sloppy/arrogant to even try to wade into those waters, he’s definitely not defending child porn or pedophilia. That’s pretty clear. Anything where you have to heavily explain how you’re not _____ is generally a bad idea.

I can’t say anything about the rest as I have not watched him in quite a long time, however, an accusation as serious as “he’s a pedophile/defends pedophiles” requires concrete evidence. Neither of you have provided it yet, but I am very open to seeing it if you have any. I have no strong feelings about the dude. I just don’t trust people (like the person above) who non-ironically throw around terms like “radlib” and just casually go “I think they’re a pedophile” as if that isn’t arguably the single worst thing you can accuse someone of.

Again though: what does any of this have to do with being vegan in the first place?
