Especially him explaining the rules: During each ceasefire, the other side remains peaceful and respectful. Lol

huppakee@feddit.nlto Map Enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz•Chances of being born in each ContinentEnglish3·1 day agoHumans are a very prosperous species and it seems likely we’ll have descendants on Earth for hundreds of millions of years. Even if we manage to destroy civilisation, any group of survivors could be back up and building cities in a geological instant.
As longs as climate doesn’t change faster than we and our food systems can adapt, scorching heat, unbreathable air and raging storms can end our prosperity in a geological instant too.
huppakee@feddit.nlto Map Enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz•Chances of being born in each ContinentEnglish1·1 day agoA very rare prize for sure, but is it very valuable too? Considering the wildlife there I’m not so sure.

He’s from the same party as Mark Rutte and they have been part of the coalition for 10+ years. There will be elections in a few months, probably was just a good opportunity to get exposure because this has been their stance for a while now.

huppakee@feddit.nlOPto Europe@feddit.org•Israel blasts EU report claiming Gaza human rights breachesEnglish12·2 days agoI 100% agree on the fuck off Israel sentiment, but over 300 innocent people died at that little festival, elsewhere in the country 300 more. Not counting any combatants. That totally doesn’t excuse them but I feel we need to be empathic to losses on both sides. I can’t force you to be, but your comment might be seriously hurtful to someone on our (=all people wanting peace in Palestine) side.
huppakee@feddit.nlto Boycott US@lemmy.ca•ICE detains Marine Corps veteran’s wife who was still breastfeeding their childEnglish121·2 days agoTo be honest I don’t understand why they would ever vote for Trump in the first place, but people do a lot of things I don’t understand. I feel in live we should be allowed to make mistakes. I think the being shocked part also comes from them realising they’ve made a mistake. Like their whole (false) view of the world just breaks.
I mean it really really sucks some people realise only now becauss the world would have looked a lot better if they hadn’t voted for a dictator. So I totally we get it we call them out for voting for a leopard and having their faces eaten but we also should be careful turning them away. A mistreated veteran longing for his wife might be a great asset in the fight against fascism.

huppakee@feddit.nlOPto Europa / Europe and the EU + EEA@lemmy.world•Israel blasts EU report claiming Gaza human rights breaches1·2 days agoI haven’t really noticed, but this one clearly could go with less violent wording. The previous articles on this topic were normal headlines so don’t think it is is specifically (more) true for Euronews:
Israel ‘completely rejects’ EU decision to review trade and cooperation deal: https://www.euronews.com/2025/05/21/israel-completely-rejects-eu-decision-to-review-trade-and-cooperation-deal
EU review indicates Israel breached human rights in Gaza: https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/06/20/eu-review-indicates-israel-breached-human-rights-in-gaza
I disagree on this: “One step forward, one step backwards. Somehow, Denmark manages to make public transportation benefit only the people who need it the least.”
I’m not saying it does benefit the people who need it the most, but this artificially boost demand for public transport which makes more funding more responsible. Also because it artificially lowers demand for roads it makes it easier to ‘sell’ not investing in roads.
What is a bad thing about this though, is that it might make it more appealing for people who use public transport to own cars.
