I’m in my late 20s and started with ms-dos too. And even tried OS/2 to check I wasn’t missing something before upgrading to 3.1 then XP 😂

I was really surprised by some libre games with really good graphics for free software, like Xonotic or Unvainquished. And also very cool projects like Speed-Dreams, that is not as beautiful but is really promising

Otherwise, very cool stuff like Kdenlive, Ardour, LMMS, Puredata, … This is a long list! 😅

Ardour is also a very good fully free (as in freedom) alternative to Reaper, if you want to experiment 😊

It would give an enormous power to who controls this “front page”. This page could restrict any user arbitrarily, lock them out, spy on them, etc. And because this page would be unique, they would have no alternative. This is exactly why federation is a key to freedom.
