It’s just one of the pipes in the interweb plumbing system duh. (That’s actually a slightly better metaphor than I was going for come to think of it.)

Anyone here old enough to remember the dot com bubble in the 90’s? Like really remember the hype and insanely bloated overpriced IPOs and all that? This feels exactly the same way.
Off topic but I always thought the airbnb logo looks like a dangling ballsack and their service fits well with that image, so I’m not the least bit surprised to see the company struggling.
I guess I meant I didn’t realize these things can and do swing back and forth with the political pendulum. It just felt more permanent ish than that, idk.
Question: can we expect net neutrality rules to change every 4/8 years with each new administration?
How will that impact everything, broadly speaking? Unstable rules and regs are hard to work around.
People were sending Ajit Pai death threats. Were they aware his rules would be reversed in4-8 years? It sure seemed serious a few years ago (not violently serious but a major issue for sure). I feel misled for not knowing regs will change real quick.
Just curious, I have no idea how this sort of thing works.
Now there’s lih-nux or lie-nux I don’t know how you say it Or how you install it, or use it, or play it Or where you download it, or what programs run But lih-nux, or lie-nux, don’t look like much fun
However you say it, it’s getting great press Though how it survives is anyone’s guess If you ask me, it’s a great big mess For elitist, nerdy shmucks
“It’s free!” they say, if you can get it to run The Geeks say, “Hey, that’s half the fun!” Yeah, but I got a girlfriend, and things to get done The Linux OS SUCKS (I’m sorry to say it, but it does.)
Reminds me of that weird tree guy on Nip/Tuck who grew bark on his skin and they cut it all off but then it grew back. It’s a real condition too.

I never really understood why battery technology was so difficult until a friend put it in perspective for me. The only difference between a battery and a bomb is the rate they release their energy. Now I understand.
All I know is that I’m paying more for all my streaming services + internet than I ever was for internet+cable. Like, double.
My ISP regularly tacks on extra charges for $1-$5. I suspect they do this to millions of people assuming nobody will call in to complain about five bucks. But at that scale they rake in tens of millions for no extra service. Massive theft.
My office’s IT helpdesk guy had a similar comic in his office. 3 panels of a guy at his work computer miserable, and the last panel he’s at home on his own computer happy as a clam. So true
I’m so sick and tired of every single website and service trying to push an app on me. No, I don’t want to download your stupid shitty app, I’ve got dozens and I don’t want another one that I don’t use that interrupts me to push stupid notifications. Now get off my lawn!
Adding to this: SEC regs for officers in public companies require them to plan and disclose trades well in advance. It’s not exactly my field and I’m way too lazy to research, but it’s probably like one or two quarters in advance. This is to prevent market panic and speculation exactly like the bs in this thread.
