The key issue is that so many American voters are still not getting it, or Trumps approval ratings were only single digits.

Single digits? Try full in guillotine

If Americans suddenly would be smart enough to see what trump really is, he’d be dead within minutes

“Collapse” is some heavy hyperbole, but it’s interesting to see any dip this soon in.

This is what really stuck with me:

The 2024 election saw Trump win 63 percent of rural voters, up from 60 percent in 2020, according to AP VoteCast.

Only 63 percent?! I would have guessed, given the rural area I’m in, that they would have hit 80 percent, maybe more. Of course there aren’t that many MAGA faithful, not the frothing at the mouth sort, but I’d have guessed Trump voters would be far higher. We just had a special election for Florida District 1 and the Democrat got fucking creamed.

      1. They’re loud, but not necessarily many.

      2. They are passionate, and therefore will turn out to vote.

      3. American voter turnout is generally pretty low. The best year in over 100 years was 2020 with still only about 2/3 of eligible voters showing up to vote.

These things combined make it seem impossible for Democrats or progressive independents to win almost anywhere. All it takes is candidates impressive enough to break through to the people who aren’t showing up to vote. Milquetoast weiners aren’t exciting enough for this, and neither is the strategy of trying to court the right.

It’s not entirely their fault that they don’t have better information. It’s not like the Democrats or left parties have been educating and explaining things to them. All they have is conservative values the learned experience of neo-liberal Democrats globalization gutting their towns and a propaganda machine unchecked by regulation or ethics.

It’s not entirely their fault that they don’t have better information.

All human knowledge is available to anyone that lives in a country with uncensored internet access. They are ignorant because they choose to be so.

Your excuse is akin to saying it’s alright for a parent to beat their child because they were beaten as children so they don’t know any better.

Just wait until the magas realize they’ve lost their medicade and food stamps. I hope his feral gun toting supporters turn on him. It would be a beautiful thing to watch them storm the capital and tear him limb from limb. 🍿

      Doubt it.

Trump presidency #1, he removed disability insurance, food stamps, Affordable Care Act work. A lot of it was rolled back.

But you know what? The Maga cucks still went to every god damn live event praising this numskull.

      They don’t care.

The 2024 election saw Trump win 63 percent of rural voters, up from 60 percent in 2020, according to AP VoteCast.

According to the poll, just 46 percent of rural voters now approve of Trump’s job performance, while 45 percent disapprove. In February, 59 percent approved and 37 percent disapproved.

That’s a pretty significant drop in a little more than a month.

Glad to see some red folks are finally starting to open their eyes.

Until it’s election time and they still vote Republican because they are more scared of a Democrat in the Whitehouse than a dictator.

…this is why fascists oppress minorities and start wars: as long as they have outsiders to blame for their incompetence, their faithful will rally all the harder…

Gotta admit, I came in here expecting the “total collapse” to be an overhyped 5-10% or something, glad to see it’s actually something significant lol
