Hello SquaredCircle! Welcome to our Weekly Discussion Thread!
What have you watched lately? Seen any great matches? Have suggestions for things to watch? Anything not getting covered in other threads that ya wanna fill people in about? Questions about promotions, wrestlers, ‘the business’ or more?
Feel free to post below!
(Reminder, this thread can and will contain spoilers for possibly any show. Spoiler tags are not required in here, but if the show just happened try and keep spoiler talk it to its respective discussion thread for the first day).
Eddie Guerrero’s daughter Shaul is married to TNA color commentator and Chicago native Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English in WWE). Rehwoldt’s father is apparently friends with Robert Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV.
That some short degrees of separation lol
So, my big watch of Stardom failed and I’m thinking of actually just jumping in with the latest Queendom now. I find pro wrestling fandom to be a delicate balancing act with all of your other interests because of the sheer volume of it. Even when I was just trying to keep up with all of the WWE shows years ago, it was basically swallowing up all of my other interests and leaving no time for anything else. It’s actually one of the things that attracted me to TNA, that there was only one weekly show and one big event a month.
So I got overwhelmed. And distracted with other things. And now I need to get back into this. Pretty sad to see that a couple of my favourites have left Stardom in the mean time though.
Life happens, don’t feel too bad. I’d recommend watching the last month or two prior to ASGQ in that case before you do. The main event (Nakano vs Kamitani) has been brewing for a long time but that’d get you caught up enough (if you aren’t already) to go into it proper.
As always feel to ask if you need some catch-up tldr’s and I’ll try to help!
Nice, thanks for the advice. So would Path of Thunder be a good place to pick it up again? That’s more or less two months before Queendom and it looks like all of the shows leading up to it are touring shows like Stardom in Osaka, Stardom in KOBE etc.
Just found this in my youtube watchlater list from 3mo ago lmao - https://youtu.be/ZEypt0nmOzI complete history of Tam and Saya’s past, so that can cover the gravitas of their story.
Thanks! I haven’t started yet, so I’ll probably start with this then. Seems like it came out before Path of Thunder. Hoping to get my hands on some pot today, then I’m gonna smoke a j and get started.
Looks like a good spot, one of the big set up’s for ASGQ’s main happens a week or so after PoT, so go for it!
John Goblikon, the lead vocalist of Necrogoblikon and real life goblin, has been posting videos with various TNA wrestlers. He pitched some lyric changes to Joe Hendry, became best friends with Sami Callihan, got some dancing tips from the Hardys, and was in a backstage segment on the show last night.
Je’Von Evans got into a pissing match with Ricochet on Xitter to the point where Je’Von basically called TK a crackhead, and now according to SRS the entire PC has been given some kind of ‘how to properly interact online’ training ROFL
(Reminds me of when I worked at a call centre and someone I knew screamed a slur across the call floor and we all got sensitivity training a couple days later 🤦♂️)
Edit: SRS is now rebuking this, brother you said it.
I hope Gunther chops Pat HackAfee so hard that he’s hospitalized
Same
Homie was breathing like I am at sea level right now. God damn pollen.
god i feel this 😭
I really hope this means he’ll do something even better/ dumber at the peak and not that he was told no kickflips on the top of the mountain.
Boy’s gonna coffin drop off that bitch…
i mean he’s gotta get down somehow :)
I’ve gotten to 2017 in Stardom. Some day I will make it to modern times. Watching Io suplex Viper twice in a row was fucking insane
Slow and steady!
