  • It’s funny how it is the exact opposite for me.

All my WD drives died, while all my Seagate drives are in perfect working order.

Bought 2 WD hdds new, used them for about 4 years in RAID for daily borg backups, one died, the other got very slow with tons of smart errors.

Bought 2 Seagate hdds new, same usecase, same capacity, have been running for over 5 years now.

Personal anecdotes are not a reliable factor for manufacturer quality.

    To quote some statistics:

In general, Seagate drives are less expensive and their failure rates are typically higher in our environment. But, their failure rates are typically not high enough to make them less cost effective over their lifetime.

  • I was temped to get one for my office, but after looking at it - It’s kind of meh.

Because of the reduced price, you have to get a lot of useless junk options and accessories, which are unnecessary and wasteful, to reach the minimum in order to be eligible for the case (and a cow died). If there were keys and caps in your shop, one could buy them and go with the cheaper board options, but thats not the case.

By that time you’re spending 300$ and not even getting a functional keyboard lol

No thanks, I got my keyboardio for around the same price, with a nicer thumb cluster layout, a non-square carrying case (no cows had to die for it either) and it was assembled with keys and caps!

I mean, the fucking dumang-dk6-ergo-v2 costs just under 400$ and is an insanely cool and COMPLETELY customizable keyboard (with fucking switches and keycaps lol) and yes I already have one and it works way better than I expected.

Sorry for the rant - tldr everything else seems like a better value than what your shop offers.
