If you have steam installed as a system app then copy the .desktop file from /usr/share/applications/steam.desktop to your /home/yourusername/.local/share/applications. Once you have the .desktop file in local, edit the desktop file and go down to the first Exec= line and and the -silent switch at the end.
I’ll be on you like white on rice on a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snow storm!
Edit: missed a part
If you like the interface of the steam deck in desktop mode and you are most familiar with Ubuntu, you could try Kubuntu… which is just Ubuntu with the KDE desktop environment like what the deck has. Theres also the KDE Fedora spin. If you do want to go the Arch route you could install EndeavourOS, which is practically arch with a little bit of hand holding to get you on your feet quickly - and to help you learn the ropes.
Y’all need to get yourselves that Windows 10 2021 LTSC IoT badboy (IoT part is important). It’s supported until 2032 and it’s only bloat is edge. If I had to use windows again it would be that.
Gross, much prefer Wx, Breezy Weather and sometimes RadarOmega to watch severe weather outbreaks.
Yea tried that already, one won’t work at all and one will stop working after sometime. I assume it still has something to do with google services. I have not tried with microg. Either way… I’ll get there to google-free land eventually its a work in progress. Sometimes I do consider just ripping off the band-aid and installing raw lineage os then learn to deal with it from there.
I agree but there’s 2 apps there is no good alternative for and they are paid, at least one of them I am learning Android studio + Kotlin to recreate it. The other I have found Wx which is OK but besides that there is no good advanced weather radar.
I knew it! I had the sneaking suspicion that this was the case. About a month ago I updated my phone to Android 14 (custom rom) and noticed I started having trouble with RCS after a couple days since the update. I knew I was going to lose the play integrity but whatever. RCS was nice but I will not bend… just pushing me a step further to de-googling my phone. Lol it’s funny how they cry to Apple about supporting RCS but yet refuse to allow third party apps or phones that don’t meet their requirements, pathetic. There should be an encrypted text communication standard that isn’t controlled by one company who can lock you out because you don’t have approved software, that is ridiculous. That being said, I wish Signal was still a SMS app.
Maybe they should start making landline style phones that take a SIM card but otherwise look and function like the phones of yesteryear.
Imagine if companies quit with the bs fluff talk and just told it like is. I think it might be easier to take their shit if they just told you things straight up.
A recent example of this is the skiff email they sent out to everyone. Six paragraphs of time wasting fluff that the end user doesn’t give a damn about. They could have simply said something along the lines of “We have sold our company to notion and will be sunsetting our products in 6 months. This means you will need to find another email provider within that time.”.
“WJLX still has its FM transmitter and tower, it is not allowed to operate its FM transmitter while the AM station is off the air.”
But why?
I won’t beat you this time but I did laugh at your comment.
I haven’t tried but Murena sells Fairphones to the US market but no release date announced it for it yet.
Instead of asking for Linux support maybe we should be asking companies for wine/proton support, since that works for Mac and Linux. Not ideal but probably more realistic and that would solve issues for all the non-windows desktops. I would also imagine it’s less work for the company to just ensure it works on wine, than it is to compile a seperate client for Linux. I don’t know about anti cheat stuff but personally I wouldn’t run a game that wanted that level of access to my system.
Peeridge Farm Forgets.
It would be nice if it did have some automatic backup solution. Backup options could be something like Nextcloud, or some local server. Maybe even android backup but the data has to be encrypted with a password and be an opt in feature.
