It’d be weird after half a century of tv, if suddenly in the 2010s it somehow escalated all the self harm/suicide stats.

This might help you understand the issue with reddit, which apparently has yet to ever cover its operating costs within a year:
Kind of eye opening, even if you vaguely understood the situation beforehand.
I think you’re misunderstanding my point.
You can still use reddit for free, that won’t change. That is because to reddit you are cattle, the product, what is being sold.
And as long as you are a product, reddit is going to extract as much value from you as they can. It’s why their valuation is in the billions, you are lucrative cattle. And qs someone who has wrangled that cattle, spez is taking his cut.
These are sites premised on free labour but the end user pays nothing to enjoy the site.
As much value is created by those volunteers, the operating/dev costs are very real and can’t just be hand waved away.
Probably very unpopular thoughts but…
A) How many of us wouldn’t angle for an almost 200 million dollar payout? Seriously? All of us are too good for that?
B) Social media like reddit is basically free for users and costs way more than most of us could afford to run. We probably need to figure out some middle ground where people expect to pay a few pennies for something they use for hours a day. Unfortunately, advertising etc has conditioned/conned people into thinking everything should be “free” and with ads.
Red, easily.
Yeah, some childhood stuff would suck but you could probably skip a good few grades. As you already (hopefully) know how to socialize by now, a lot of the childhood friend stuff seems pretty optional.
Dating would be really tricky through the early teenage years as I don’t know how I’d feel about girls my own physical age at that point.
Because I’m relatively older and would have insane future knowledge, I could absolutely rock in stocks and have enough money to actually effect change. (Eg, singelhandedly fund a massive Democrat turnout machine in the rustbelt for 2016.)
The hard part would be somehow connecting with my current group of friends whom I love to death and wouldn’t want to lose. They are the only thing that makes the blue pill tempting.
Nahhhhh, I researched this… You think it’s just a coincidence that this is also what the liberal media would want us to think?!?
I don’t have access to their data but my guesses are something like:
A) Money isn’t an issue for a large number of subscribers.
B) People like those specific models after stumbling onto them on reddit or whatnot. And while there are many other attractive women, the Onlyfans model is the one they like best.
C) Similar to gonewild, there’s an allure to someone ostensibly being an amateur rather than a pornstar.
D) Laziness. I imagine onlyfans really took off during the pandemic. For those who don’t really look at their credit card bills, I doubt there are other reminders.
I knew there was something fishy about the sport of “hockey”.
I think the landscape will be our current one but wildly exaggerated once convincing video fakes are cheaply available.
Even with AI spotting/detecting fakes, conspiracy minded folks will just dismiss those AI detections as tech/government/media suppressing the truth. Similarly, actual events can be dismissed as AI edited for the same reasons.
While this sort of exists for text already, people rarely fact check memes/ideas and video is a hell of a lot more convincing.
I’ve died 700 times, 800 of which are because of government mandated vaccines.
I cannot wait for conservatives to blame the MCU’s next failure on the union. My only question is whether they’ll wait long enough for one actually made by unionized employees or if they’ll just take whatever flops next, facts be damned.
I’m assuming this is on a dating app…
Maybe I’m an asshole but good conversations are a dime a dozen. If we go out, have a good connection and make plans? Personally, I’ll apologize to the others I’m chatting with but I get the ghosting. What percentage of “good” (generally just fine with maybe a solid joke) app convos lead to a connection we both want to pursue? Not all that many.
