Girls Under Panzer put all the fan service into a separate series of short (under 5 mins) OVAs, so it’s avoidable but does exist …

As an enjoyer of non-fanservice Animé, but knowing how different people around the world have different attitudes to appropriateness, I’m going to say that you’re going to have to carefully filter any list yourself.
For example, all of Girls Under Panzer is free from fan service / sexualization, (apart from the short OVAs which are nothing but that stuff) … but some people don’t like it’s playful attitude to WW2 history.
SuperCub is another series that features zero sexualisation, but contains themes around depression, isolation, and struggling with interpersonal relationships.
Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, again no sexualization but features fighting against patriarchal systems and a love story of lesbanins.
It’s possible that none of these are appropriate for your daughter, when I was 11 I would have devoured them and come back for more.
Then there’s stuff like Born in Abyss which looks like a cutesy kids adventure but then descends into multiple layers of horror … so, tread carefully.

One I got from a friend of a friend is a taste in shitty old cars. Whenever I’m out walking the dogs and happen across an obscure or currently rare, but shit, car I’ll take a photo of it.
Everyone loves the “halo” models, the GTIs and Turbos, but I love to see a rusty 1.4 diesel that didn’t even come with carpets when new :-)
I’ve never ever found another woman to nerd out about old cars with, unfortunately, and most guys do the knowledge test thing which is most offputting :-/

Risk of Falling Rocks was my favourite, while now I live in Spain I’m undecided between the No Motorcycling and Danger of Cattle signs (the Spanish risk of falling rocks sign is lame)
SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Autism@lemmy.world•What are your unconventional special interests?5·4 days agoRocks are cool, I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t appreciate a collection of them.
My mother is trying to downsize her stuff because her health is going downhill, she gave me the best of her rock collection and it’s on the shelf next to me while I type this … they’re really nice rocks.
Plus sales tax.
The US is weird …
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service the second actor to play the role gets beaten up, after which he says “this never happened to the other guy!”
Bonus fun fact: In the original book Pussy Galore is a lesbian who who gets raped straight by James Bond’s magical penis.
I have a pair for shooting, they were about 6€

Maybe because much of my life has been lived in areas with holiday homes, and the seasonal nature of life going from hardly anyone around to overrun with privileged assholes feels intensely unnatural and damaging to places where communities used to exist.
I agree with all this. I also have a soft spot for The Cat Returns because that was the first one I saw, lol
Well, I am a gun nut and I feel the same way (in Minecraft)

Another poster suggested dry firing, which is good practice that can be done away from the range and helps handling the gun become second nature (better with a snap cap so you also practice handling bullets and mags too, IMO). I’d also suggest checking out Tacticool Girlfriend’s YouTube video about countering flinching, which is a natural reaction and can cause grouping to drop (it happens to me really badly with full load 45ACP)
The final book is about 2" thick and contains depictions of torture … what age do you think that was meant to be read by?
And it’s that last book that cements that the only problem with the magical society is that someone bad got to be in charge … Harry gets to be a wizard cop who will send people to a prizon of horrible torture, all the slaves are happy being slaves, the banks are run by greedy little monsters with big noses, and that’s how it’s supposed to be.
Books presented to young readers can help them to form lasting impressions of how they see the world if, like most people, they don’t think to question it. My Mum thought Enid Blyghton books were just wonderful, for example.
Same vibe as “chewing on a cigar”

Stickers make everything better - put a sticker on something and both you and the thing will be upgraded :-)
I have a big biscuit tin of stickers. For emergencies.
