My guess is that eventually the Spotify and the record labels will have more disagreements about royalties, and that Spotify will pivot more towards podcasting - independent folks who have far less power in negotiations.

I’m never buying a Honda again after buying a 2018 Civic model. Less than 10k on it when I bought it and the A/C went out. There’s an issue with the condenser on the 2018/2019 Hondas. They offered to pay HALF of what it’d cost to fix - I’d still be out more than a thousand. And from research online, apparently the replacements tend to fail too.

Butting in: Temu has been aggressively pursuing a market share, once it has reached a large audience the deals will be less good. It also enables various varieties of affiliate marketing which get a little scammy (you’ve probably had a Facebook friend or random TikTok aggressively push Temu) and the app harvests a shit ton of data from you.

AliExpress has been fairly consistent for years. AliBaba is what a lot of merchants in the US use to purchase and resell goods, AliExpress just feels like taking out a middleman.

Ultimately, it’s best to comparison shop. Amazon, Temu, Ali will all often have the same item up, just find the one that’s cheapest.

Why does the same company that owns WebMD also own Lawyers.com and a car website?

I report lots of scam ads and leave comments calling them out. I’ve had Meta or YouTube take down maybe one or two of the hundreds I’ve reported. But I’ve had a ton of my comments removed as “hate speech” (stuff like pointing out a NFT collection was using stolen artwork). We are not their customers - advertisers are. The people who made this ad are the people that paid Meta - why would they take it down?

These scam ads have been an issue for at least a year. I’m pretty sure they’re automated and there’s very little that can be done to trace them to their original sources. I’m sure if Mr. Beast did threaten to sue Meta, then they would just start filtering “beast” from ads.
