What I would try in your situation (I don’t have the game so I can just give ideas):

Firstly I would try to wait a lot of time after I click on play, idk 10 minutes (because of some ppl comments on proton db I’m inclining to believe this blank screen wait until some shader compilation.

Then I would relink my ea account with steam (if it is possible, usually is, unlink and then link again).

Then I would try to run it on 8.0-2 and 7.0x In order.

Then would I close steam and delete the wineprefix, (wineprefix is a C: disk emulation where wine will run this program) on steam folder there is a compatdata folder, inside it you should find the Id of your game, it is the number in the URL of the game in steam store.

Also, I would reboot my system if I had a recent update in the last two sessions, idk why but when I update me endevour sometimes I feel the next session a little unstable until I reboot two times.

I did not know about this game but this clip turned me off, the boss seems a bit uninspired, the boss is a paladin but he cast some purple things far away but the cast has no voice or good animation.
Also, these 2 classes seem a little bit generic too, the OP just spam dash the entire fight.

Yup, I agree, you know, I even think that we cannot even compare the two kind of games cause they are so different. One is much more a story teller, the other is a RPG. There is nothing wrong in preferring one over another but they are too different imo.

I prefer games with established characters over blank-slate character creator types.

Well, for me here is just a question of creativity and how much you want to put in your character. Personally, I can´t play a lot of these games with established characters cause they aren’t me, they are they and anything I do will not change the fact that he is Gerald with his history, motivations, and willingness, so why do I play exactly? Just to see what will happen cause in the end he will still be Gerald, not me, not my character.
