Damn… I go to a corner store Amazon Go almost every time I go into the office for a flavored seltzer. They have dog treats and my my dog loves going there every time.
I hope this is one of the convenience stores that it keeps open.
It was weird that last year they reversed the way you pay, making you pay/scan your code on the way out. So backwards to the “just walk out” motto. They went back on it less than 6 months later.

I charge every 2-3 hours for 15-25 mins. So a 6.5 hour trip will take about 7.5-8 hours. For my latest cross country trip, it took 48 hours with charging from Seattle to Jackson Mississippi. Google says it’s a 38 hour drive. So it added about 25% but he drive was so much more enjoyable. We got food at all of our stops so it didn’t add that much time when you factor in stopping for food, gas, water, dog, etc. Sure it adds a little time, but it helps me stay awake.
Charging infrastructure is only going to get better and faster. Imagine a 500mile battery that charges to 80 in 15 mins. You’ll only stop every 4-5 hours for 15 mins. About the same as a gas car now.
Also, that’s why I said I can’t wait to have charging infrastructure with other automakers.
I didn’t say everyone should get an EV either. I’d much rather have better mass public transit. I’m just saying the infrastructure is there for EV charging.
I have over 110k miles on my EV in 5 years, and that’s including COVID lockdown and then moving to the city where I drive even less. The charging infrastructure is there for Tesla. I was able to drive across the country (Washington to Mississippi/Alabama) three times so far, down in rural Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, in the snow, through the Rocky mountains, through the cascades for hikes, etc.
It’s a no brainer. I’m never going back to anything with a combustion engine. If Tesla can do charging infrastructure that makes 99.9% of the US easily accessible, so can Ford or any other big EV manufacturer.
I didn’t degrade intelligence, just asking if we can stop using because it doesn’t help others who aren’t in the science space. I’m saying this in an open forum. Many people that say it do not understand this. They think that gravity is just absent. I was giving some context to help others.

Please stop saying gravity when you mean G forces. There is nowhere in our known universe where gravity isn’t a factor. The reason you can experience 0 G forces in orbit is BECAUSE of gravity. You’re free falling to earth constantly because it’s pulling you in.
0G’s is what you need want to say. Also microgravity is appropriate because it’s “low apparent gravitational forces.”
Yep. That’s why I got a Tesla in 2018. It really can go anywhere in the country.
The USA does not have train or bus infrastructure. We looked at it but it would take weeks to get home on a train. It’s just not viable, but I wish it was. I take the bus in the city I live in almost anytime I can.
I have driven from Mississippi to Washington when I’ve moved and I’ve driven from MS to Denver during COVID to see friends (we did the whole 2 week quarantine before and took many precautions). I am driving back to see family for the holidays because flying is 2x the price plus dog boarding. We’re bringing our dog so we don’t have to pay the $700+ to do that.
For CO2 emissions: flying 2,000 miles both ways would be 1.2 metric tons of CO2 per passenger (using an online tool I found). We are driving 2,500 miles both ways, and having an extra passenger makes it more efficient per passenger. So for 2 passengers, 5,000 miles in a Tesla is 1 metric ton of CO2 total, which is 0.5/passenger, over half of what flying would do. Sure, I could just not go see my grandpa who has been struggling to breathe and in pain almost daily, but I haven’t seen my family in 2 years, and I miss them.
This is not normal for EVs. The only real problems I’ve had with my Tesla model 3 since 2018 was some paint issues and a sticky blinker, which they came to my work and replaced.
It’s sucks that all these companies seem to be trying to screw over their EVs when they are vastly better. I’ve traveled all over the US in mine. I’m currently on another cross country road trip and the charging system just works. 1,300 miles in 24 hours with charging for the first day. Without stopping at all, that’s still a 19.5h drive.
Check out how successful Dick’s is in Washington. They have so many locations now. Their first location was Wallingford, Seattle. It’s about a 1 mile walk from the U district, where a lot of the college kids hang out. Now, Dick’s has a location in most major districts of Seattle, mostly around bars, and even outside of Seattle. They are cheap ($2.50 for a cheeseburger) and super fast because they don’t do customizations with a limited menu. Mostly window only walk up pick up, no dine in (except for the one outside the hockey stadium, but it’s standing only).
You’ve got the right idea.
There’s a camera in the cabin that faces the driver. It’s above the rear view mirror. It does also feel the weight of your hand on the wheel and gets mad if that’s missing.
Definitely not refuting the point. Just noting that it’s very aggressive in making sure you’re watching the road. I can’t even look at the screen where the map is for too long or it gives me a warning beep.
If you take your eyes off the road for more than 3-5 seconds (depending on speed), it beeps at you. Doing this 3 times in about 5 mins will lock you out of the system and give you a strike. 5 strikes in about 6-9 months, you lose access to the “self driving”.
It’s way more aggressive than it used to be at least.
Oh damn, I didn’t realize Tesla started making the standard range again. When I got my LR RWD in 2018, they were not selling the SR anymore. However, their Model Y starts at 75kWh, and their Model S and X are only 100kWh now.
The person above you said Tesla. Most newer Tesla models are 75 kWh-120kWh.
With how much they’re investing in video and how large their camera/film user base is, they will not go portless.
God of War 2018 & God of War: Ragnarök. I would recommend this first on PS5.
Next I would say is 100% worth the time investment: Final Fantasy XIV. It’s an MMO, but the story is amazing. You can play 99% of the story with NPCs easily. They made it so easy to pay older dungeons with the new NPC system to keep players going. It starts off very slow and just bleh (war story with light fantasy), but it gets better and better. I’ve played the 3rd expansion twice and plan on playing the 4th expansion again soon. I’ve cried so much. Even the side stories have great stories as the writers get their footing after the first bit. You’ll recognize several of the fantasy elements from FF16. I’ve only every played 15 before 14, so it’s not like I’ve spent a a lot of time in the series.
You know they aren’t forcing you to use the bundled stuff, right?
