Desync still isn’t fully fixed, although in Nov 2023 they announced stsrting a networking codebase rebuild to try and fix it so maybe in the future it will be.

This is the same team that said they couldn’t add Slayer at launch because their brand new engine made it too difficult to add

Hold the parry button rather than clicking it quickly. When you first hold the parry button is when the window starts, and it lasts a few frames while held. This works for perfect guard as well.
You’ll still need to time it properly, but holding it longer should have a noticeable improvement in the consistency of your parries.

If you want to play modern or even recent games and indulge your locked down metwork desires I recommend getting a secondary PC just for gaming and run a separate vlan to fully separate traffic from your existing setup. There’s really no realistic threat vector there barring a state level actor or something equally serious but I’m happy to be corrected.
