Why? Samsung phones have already been doing this for years and it makes getting a new device so much easier. All I gotta do is login to my account and everything is transferred over.

Honestly, it works so well that I can just start using the new phone without any extra effort. Literally everything is exactly where I left it on the old phone. It’s one of my favorite new features in smartphones.

In the past it used to take me at least two days to set up a new phone the way I like it, and several weeks to months to iron out the kinks and get back logged into everything. Now I can be up and running in under an hour. It’s the best thing ever.

Wrong game.

One reason why I can never go back to non-foldables: restaurant menus. (Or any document/book reading, for that matter.)

It’s amazing for videos and games too.

I went without a foldable for two weeks once and it was incredibly frustrating. Couldn’t get used to not being able to open the phone to get a closer look at pictures and restaurant menus. The zoom-and-scroll technique on a tiny phone screen is annoying as hell once you’re used to not having to do it anymore. I can never go back to a non-foldable ever again. Thankfully used ones are pretty affordable. Just upgraded my Samsung Fold 3 to a Fold 4 for only $400.

Finally got around to signing up to Bluesky after avoiding Twitter for almost two decades and, well…I don’t get it. The entire thing is basically just Shower Thoughts, Shower Thoughts featuring politics, and the occasional picture of a cat… That’s it? Really? It’s like a more boring version of Lemmy and Imgur. Please explain what I’m missing here cause I lost all interest after about 30 minutes on the site.

What annoys you about the ladders? To this day, I find them among the easiest video game ladders to use. No stupid button prompts; just hold W. To go down one, just face it backwards and press S. Simple, genius design.

On my feed it’s just pictures of pets and people who I don’t know making lists of things they like. But to be fair, I just installed the app today.

Honestly, waking up and seeing my balance was the only thing that kept me from ending myself the day after the election.

So glad I invested when the price was at $20k and everyone was calling it a “scam”. Good thing I didn’t listen. Bitcoin literally saved my life.

CoD mobile is good… when played in an Android emulator on PC. It’s basically CoD: Greatest Hits, and it’s way better than Black Ops 6 (or any console/PC CoD, for that matter). All the best maps from the old games are there. Takes me back to the days of MW1 & 2 on the XBOX 360.

The only issues is that it takes some tweaking and the right emulator (Gameloop) to get a steady 120+ FPS, and it can take dozens of matches before game starts pairing you with other mouse and keyboard players (instead of just bots or controller/touchscreen users), but once you’ve established your rank, it becomes ton of fun cause you’re not just destroying everyone you match against. It becomes a legit challenge.

In the middle of nowhere, maybe. But I’ve been on several road trips across the state and had service the entire way, mostly LTE with a few spots of 3G here and there. As long as you’re near the highway or a town, you’ll get service.

Lemmy seems to hate any new technology, I’ve noticed.

Personally I’ve found GPT to be extremely useful as a search engine replacement, especially the implementations that cite their sources. That way you can actually fact check instead of wondering if it’s a hallucination. It helps me rely on reddit a lot less to find answers. I love that it’s being integrated with Windows. Makes finding files a lot easier, even easier than using Everything search.

Lemmy also hates crypto. They call it a scam, despite the fact that it’s now being traded on the stock market (BTC and soon to be ETH). I turned $12k into $36k, just by buying small amounts of BTC every paycheck since COVID started. I buy everything with crypto; there are Visa debit cards you can use to spend it. Crypto gave me enough financial wiggle room that I no longer worry about losing my job. Yet it’s a “scam”. Give me a fucking break.

Lemmy hates HDR. Every time I mention the reason why I haven’t switched to Linux yet is because of poor HDR support in KDE, I get ridiculed. “Why would you want your monitor brighter and more colorful? Mine’s bright and colorful enough”, failing to realize just how much more realistic “brighter and more colorful” makes an image appear. With a proper 1000 nit OLED display, it feels more like looking out of a window than staring at a monitor. Like going from a black and white to color TV. One of those things that you can’t go back on once you get used to it.

And although not a new technology, per se don’t even get me started on how much Lemmy hates cars. But I feel like I’ve ranted on long enough so I’m just going to stop talking here before my inbox blows up.
