I stopped in today after months because my friend is launching a game and I wanted to give them a like and a comment. When I left Twitter my feed was just nerd shit and makers.
When I logged in today it was several right wing advertisements at the top. When I went to search it was more Trump shit. I just wanted to support my indie friend. That’s it for me.
Came here to say this. I’ve worked on systems for a restaurant on the beach and it was corroded as hell. We had the wireless access points in cheap “weatherproof” boxes and they got corroded. We replaced them once a year or so because it was so bad.
It’s unique in it’s looks.

I’m glad that my nephew’s teacher last year sent out a message to allow family to donate to those parties. I’ve paid for a few.
I’m also sad that it has come to that.
I feel ya. I played one of the CoD games online once back in the mid 00s and stopped gaming entirely for more than a decade. It seriously made me just lose all the love I had for games. I came back for Cyberpunk and it turns out that was a good time to get back into gaming.
How much of that is IT and how much is the damn CIO who was appointed because he’s the CEOs wife’s cousin instead of because he knows anything and refuses to change his password?
But I’m not bitter. At least I didn’t get caught in this one.
I never thought I’d see one of Charlie’s blogs posted around Lemmy unless it was about his books. Good to see him getting some recognition.

I remember the TechTV days before G4 took over. AotS was fun but never really replaced Screen Savers. Then G4 did whatever the fuck it did (mostly airing ghost hunters from what I remember) and went off air so we lost that too. Then there was the terrible attempt at revival a few years ago that failed spectacularly.
TWiT is still going though. Maybe something cool will come out of this.

The cast iron I bought for myself is all in good condition. That one means a lot because of where it comes from but I don’t have the patience to scrape all that shit off. I wish someone would do it for me so I could enjoy the pan my grandaddy cooked me bacon in.
