The 2024 prius would get 750 miles according to the EPA’s estimates if it had the same sized tank.

… yes they said yandex what of it?
I used a nokia dumbphone and it was awful. Not awful due do a lack of features, but awful due to how poorly those features are implemented. Kaios is teal garbage.
But the form factor was lovely, and physical buttons are so much more precise and comfortable to use than a touch screen.
The phone that I really want is a small smartphone with physical buttons for typing and navigation. As far as I am aware that is something that is not made these days.
All auto manufacturers put spyware in their cars now. This isn’t a china problem, this is an everyone problem. We need anti-spyware laws that apply to everyone.
They could sell the studio without the IPs, bring in some revenue, but it’s worth more to kill the studio than let it exist to compete.
EA already did this. Many games had real ads on billboards in the world. Need for speed underground 2 was sponsored by cingular wireless. Your ingame pager was product placement and the company’s logo was on screen whenever you were doing free roam.
This is very EA with historical precident.
The US subsidizes american car companies too. Pot calling the kettle and all.
Arcane austin was already killed by the development of redfall. Most of the talent responsible for making dishonered and prey the games they were left during development of redfall. If arcane austin went back to making immersive sims instead of closing, it would be a new team making it, with little help from the pedegree implied by arcane’s legacy.
Keep in mind however that arcane was two studios, the main studio in lyon france, and the other in austin texas. Dishonered was developed jointly. Dishonored 2 was lyon, pray was austin, and deathloop was lyon.
The lyon studio still exists. They are continuing to make games. The only thing announced from arcane is the marvel’s blade game. Not optimistic, but arcane may still be around a while yet.
NeXT was successful at being an application for the position of CEO at apple.
To be fair, we’re not the only one.
Some jars are sealed at the factory.
2022’s word was the suffix -ussy. We’re in for an linguistically amusing decade.
Sapience has nothing to do with it either.
“only works created by a human can be copyrighted under United States law, which excludes photographs and artwork created by animals or by machines without human intervention”
- Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, released on 22 December 2014
Animals are sentient. They cannot own copyrights. Proving the AI is sentient does nothing to make its outputs copyrightable.
This feels like a corporation complying with their obligations under the DMCA.
To maintain their safe harbor status, companies have to remove allegedly infringing content in response to a properly filed takedown notice. This does include links stored in google’s search results. This is what a company like google has to do when storing user data on servers in any country that signed the WIPO Copyright Treaty.
They don’t seem to be doing this in a malicious way. They have done their duty and removed the offending links from their service. But they quite kindly chose to notify the user by email, including the exact URL that was removed. The user can store that link elsewhere.
It would have been far easier to remove the link silently.
Without human authorship you cannot have a copyright. If something has no copyright protection, it is public domain.
However, the public domain is not viral. A work made with public domain elements can itself be copyrighted. However the copyright will only protect the creative expression added to the public domain work. Everyone else is free to make their own works from the public domain elements.
But…
Holders of public domain works are NOT obligated to publish or make available public domain works in their possession.
So if you use AI generation as part of your process you still have a valid copyright. Unless the audience can extract the unprotectable elements from your final product, you have the same copyright protection as a fully human produced work.
This ruling only applies to fully AI produced works. Using AI to modify a human performance to look or sound like someone else, still copyrightable. Human filming from an AI script, still copyrightable except for the script itself.
If AI makes the final output is where there’s trouble. AI’s aren’t human, their expression isn’t copyrightable. The prompt you give the AI is most likely factual rather than creative, which would make that uncopyrightable as well.
Copyright protects humans’ creative expression, and nothing else.
The best part of the NYT article linked in the tweet is the image. It shows the letters from the sign on the side of the building. Specifically the T, the W and the @.
Subtle.
The kid can’t even pay his own rent, how’s he going to afford legal fees?
No way he ever gets people to mars.
Those are orders for the 737. Not parts, newly constructed aircraft. Airbus’s similary sized A320 has a backlog of 7197 according to wikipedia.
